Georgetown Lake is a decently-sized chunk of water about 18 miles West-northwest and 1100 feet up from us. It's a popular destination for people from Butte, Missoula, and of course Anaconda. It's also ringed with developments and prone to jet-ski and waterskier infestation.
It's pretty though. Those distant mountains are the Anaconda-Pintlers; the higher peaks are >10,000 ft.
Finally, after several years as Montanans, we spotted a moose. He was hanging around one of the campgrounds we were checking out and looked to be habituated.
That is, he showed no fear.

It's a nice enough lake and all, but a little too busy in Summertime (and I suspect most of Falltime and Springtime) for my own taste. However! Come ice-fishing season when the cold keeps the bad people out,
I think it will prove much more tolerable.

What a beautiful campsite area. Hope you are able to take advantage of is soon.
The protection from bad people that cold weather offers is pretty much a religion for Minnesotans. It's why we are so nice, doncha know? :-)
looks like you didn't miss the camping season! Fall is the perfect time anyways :P
We didn't camp at the lake, just drove around it in Gertrude. There's not snow at the lake yet, but any day now....
