VW Bus as...a moving van
Since the last post was a little verbose (even for me!), this is a mostly pictorial review of our move, undertaken last week, to our new house. Well, it's not new, and it's not ours, but you know what I mean. So with a nod to Big Blue's Drivers, we present our VW Bus as...a moving van.
Actually, the camper setup isn't particularly well suited for hauling cargo around (it can be hard to get things in and out of without dinging up the cabinets and upholstery), but we've always found Ludwig serviceable enough for the purpose, as long as we don't expect too much.
Of course, Fang Fang got in on the action too. Mad props to Melissa for doing so much moving with that big ol' wiggly baby strapped to her back.

Hey, those plants go with Ludwig’s interior quite well!
I think many people feel like I have a pickup truck when they see Big Blue. They are mistaken as it holds very little.
We bought an old metal chair at an antique shop last winter and I can't tell you how embarrassing it was when I tried stuffing it into what would appear to be a large vehicle. I ended up putting the bed down and taking the back cushion out and putting that in the front. And finally getting the back door shut. I was in the parking lot of this shop for longer than I should have been pushing and pulling. If I had a tin top, I’d be very tempted to get one of those full-length racks for the top. But I guess I’d just end up with more junk.
Does the new place have a garage?

I can't wait for our next break...more visits from the fam. with all that room. Think of how much space you have for yarn! (Mel NOT Mitch).
Oh man, I started laughing looking at those pics. The number of times I picked up moving karma thanks to my van... Sure all my friends tease me for it, until they need to move... then it's "oh man this car has so much room!" Good luck in the new place.
Glad you got everything moved. Can't wait to see it in the house next.
